Health and Beauty Tip -- Taking Care of Longer Hair
If you're trying to grow your hair out, start using a wide-toothed comb on your hair while it's wet. Using brushes as your hair gets longer can lead to frizz and split ends.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Stylish Eyeshadow
Even if you're just doing simple makeup, ideally you should use three shades of eyeshadow. Use the darkest color on the lid, the lightest just below the brow bone, and fill the rest with the medium shade.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Filing Your Nails
Whether you're going for an in-home manicure or just want to clean up your nails, make sure you file correctly. Don't file your nails back and forth, as you may be accustomed to doing -- instead, file from side to side, in one direction. Also, make sure your nails are shaped into oval tips.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Lemons for Your Face
Lemon juice, with its high acid level, can help remove age spots. Don't expect to see results right away -- it tends to take several weeks. If you prefer, you can try red onion instead.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Easing a Cold
There's no cure for the common cold, but there are a few things you can do to ease the symptoms and get well more quickly. Keep a cup of warm water with table salt mixed in nearby at all times and, whenever you can, gargle with it. Make sure the water is warm, but not too hot, and that the salt remains mixed in. Doing this on a regular basis not only helps shorten the cold, but also soothes your throat.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Squeaky-Clean
If you like that "squeaky clean" feeling you get after you wash your face, you might want to rethink your washing regimen. That feeling isn't clean skin, but dry skin. Your skin should feel soft, not dry and tight, or else you may be dehydrating your skin.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Natural Teeth Whitening
Strawberries can actually whiten your teeth! They contain natural teeth whitening agents, and those annoying little seeds are good for scrubbing. You can rub the strawberry against your teeth, or mash it up and use it like toothpaste. But because of all the sugar and acid that's also in them, make sure to brush right afterwards!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Make Your Own Toothpaste
For a quick homemade toothpaste, mix together baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, table salt, and a tiny bit of your regular toothpaste. Then just use it as you would your regular toothpaste.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Keep the Green Out
If you're concerned about chlorine turning it green, squeeze a lemon into your regular shampoo and wash your hair beforehand. This is especially effective for blonde hair!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Take Care of Your Hands
To counteract the rough treatment your hands get every day, scrub them with a facial exfoliater once a week.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Cleaning Brushes
Want to get combs and hairbrushes clean? Soak them in ammonia for a minute or two -- it works a lot like the cleaner hairdressers use for their tools. Make sure to wash them off afterwards.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Curly Lashes
When using an eyelash curler, use a blow dryer to heat it up first. This will make it work much better and give you even curlier lashes!

GIFTS WE TAKE FOR GRANTED
It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... All before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & mo re powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...
God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!
God's Pharmacy! Amazing!
A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... And YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.
A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.
Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.
A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop mo re than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.
Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.
Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many mo re look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.
Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods ( modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).
Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries
Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.
Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Holiday Makeup
The holidays are special, so forget about matte eyeshadow when you go out! Younger women can experiment with shadows with frost, and mature women will look great going for shadows with a satiny finish. Avoid glitter, though ... that's a little too much!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Look Rested
Always make sure to get the right amount of sleep ... but if you just can't one night, you don't have to look exhausted the next day. Before you shower, apply a thick layer of moisturizer to your face. Use an invigorating shower gel and end with a cool rinse. Gently massage off the moisturizer at the end of the shower with a damp washcloth. The moist heat helps get rid of fine lines and creases temporarily.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAROLYN ANGELA
Today is a day I always look back to and remember when my baby girl was born. It is a day I think changed my life forever in a very good way. I may have made many mistakes in my 50 years of life but I can never and will never call the day Carolyn Angela was born as anything other than one of the best days of my life. I have remembered that day, now 29 years later with great love, joy and peace in my heart and soul. It is like it was only yesterday that I held that little baby in my arms for the first time and smiled at her as she looked back at me. She was not a greedy baby and for the first day did not feed at all. I was worried but the nurses told me not to as it was probable that she was full from all the food I had been eating prior to her birth. Tia Brenda was ecstatic that night when Carolyn was born. In the years to follow she was nanny and aunt and grandma to this child that lit up our world. Grandma Ada was also very proud and please with this new addition to the family. Yes, Carolyn Angela, you were and are a blessing that came one June 26th and stayed to light up our world.
Daugther of my life, baby of my heart and child of my soul YOU are everything to me.
You are the sunshine each morning and the stars at night.
You are my mornings battles and my peace at night.
You give my strenght and you give me love.
There is one thing I know, You are a blessing from above.
So on this your birthday I send you this thought,
Knowing and accepting all the joy that you´ve brought.
For the stars in the sky can never shine as bright,
As the child I held on that late June night.
Happy Birthday, baby.
I love you, Mama.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Ice Blue Eyeshadow
There are very few colors that work on anyone; ice blue is one of them. This complements nearly any eye and skin color without exception, so don't be afraid to try it! Just make sure you don't overdo it -- some people look better with a little, some with more.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Food for Healthier Skin
Drinking lots of water really is good for you, and it also keeps your skin looking younger and healthier. Low-sugar fruits, like berries and melons, also help keep your skin firm without being so sweet as to increase your blood sugar (which encourages water retention and increased inflammation).

Health and Beauty Tip -- Quick Eye Enhancement
Don't have time (or energy) for full makeup? Even a little work on your eyelashes can brighten your whole face. Curl your lashes and put on a bit of mascara -- it only takes a second, and it makes your eyes look great in a hurry.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Keep Away the Frizz
If you have naturally curly hair, you may get frizzy as your hair dries. There's a simple solution -- don't touch it! Wait until your hair is at least 90% dry (either let it air dry or use a diffuser) before touching it, then tousle it with your fingers to style.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Help for Damaged Hair
Give your hair time to repair itself. Keep the heat off by letting your hair air-dry as often as possible. If you must use a hair dryer, use a nozzle to put some distance between you and the dryer's heat.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Add Radiance to Your Face
When you're done applying your makeup, take your brush and apply a very light dusting of baby powder to give your face a radiant glow. Too much will make you look pale, though, so use it sparingly!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Simple Make-Up Remover
Here's a quick fix for make-up removal -- instead of cold cream or just soap and water, try a cotton pad or ball with baby oil. Swipe it across your face. It works just as well as a commercial make-up remover.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Long-Lasting Eyeshadow
To keep your eyeshadow looking great all day, apply a little concealer to your eyelid before brushing it on. This will make it last all day!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Getting a Perfect Haircut
Make sure your stylist knows exactly what you want, and help her get it just right. Sit up straight in your chair, to make sure your posture (and thus your style) isn't skewed. And instead of just describing what you want, use your hands to indicate length and style wherever you can. This gives the stylist a better idea visually of what you're going for.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Get the Most Out of Lipstick
You don't need to buy multiple tubes of lipstick to get different looks! If you want a glossy finish, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to your lips first. Dust your lipstick with some loose powder once it's applied for a matte finish, or pat it on gently for a stain. And for an evening style, mix your lipstick with a bit of dark eyeshadow.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Styling Fine Hair
If your hair lacks body, here's a quick tip: lower your head and brush your hair from underneath while you dry it. It really does work! If you still want a little more body, use a round brush.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Quick Nail Tip
If you don't have time to do your nails, try this: remove any nail polish, soak your nails in lemon juice to get rid of stains, then use a nail buffer for a quick shine.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Applying Lipstick Without a Mirror
If you need to fix up your lipstick but can't find a mirror, try this: using one finger from your free hand as a guide, position the tip of your lipstick at the center of the "bow" of your mouth. Tracing the edge of your lips with that finger, draw a half-heart shape from the center to the edge of your mouth on both sides. Then, using that same finger, trace the outside of your lower lip while applying the lipstick from the center. Don't rub your lips together -- that will just smear those nice even lines!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Picking a Purse
If you're the type who likes to have everything on hand, make your next purse a lightweight one with rolled or thick straps. Thin straps are uncomfortable to carry when your purse is heavy, and are better suited for women who don't carry much in their bags.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Red Lipstick
Red lipstick can look good on anyone -- if you find the right red. If you have red or pinkish undertones, go with a cool red with a pinkish or bluish undertone, or even a pure red -- but no orange-based reds! Only use those, or peach-toned reds, if your skin has yellow undertones. If you have olive skin, go for a pure red. Any skin tone is complemented by brown-based reds.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Hair Care for Busy Moms
THE QUEEN MAY NOT HAVE STRAIGHT HAIR BUT HER SHORT CUT HAS ALWAYS LOOKED GREAT. MAYBE IT IS THE CROWN BUT WHO KNOWS. HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Want great-looking hair, but don't have time to style it? Get a simple, straight cut. You can let your hair air-dry when you get out of the shower, and it'll still look great! For a simple cut, you don't have to spend top dollar -- a small, inexpensive salon will do fine, so long as you make sure to go back and keep your cut maintained once in a while.

SI TIENES CABELLO ONDULADO/ IF YOUR HAIR IS WAVY
LINDO CABELLO ONDULADO…
WAVY HAIR ...
If you have wavy hair, between curly and Chinese straight, you can take advantage 100% by showing off your hair by straightening only the roots and accentuating the waves or loops at the end toward the tips so that you have hair of an enviable romantic appearance.

IT TAKES A FRIEND, TO...
Well ladies, here is February 1st, 2009. One month down and eleven more to go before we say good bye to 2009.
Anyone out there feeling that they have been used or hurt by someone they trusted. Well if you are like that then sit back and read something that I discovered.
Firstly, there is no true friend in this world anymore. Everyone is out to blast someone. Everyone is out to get what they can from someone and everyone have an issue and if they are like some people I met well…… then you are in for a long haul.
I met this woman back in November of 2007 and from what I could see she seem okay. Then in September of 2008 she was back and once again she seemed fine. We became friends and would chat for long period of time. Then I had the bad luck of fining out she is just like all the other women who come around. In fact, because of her my life took a change that I am still trying to comprehend. Today I have stopped talking to her and have avoided being where she is. I need to tell someone that she is not all she pretends to be because she has told me some things that make her to be just like all the other gold diggers around who are out to find what they can get from those who feel they need to help others.
Then she went and did the unforgiveable and she knows what I am talking about. I have no intention of keeping in contact with a fake and now I feel I should tell the person she is using that she is not the woman she wants us to think she is.
What I have to say about this sort of “friendship” is WE DON’T NEED IT. And if the person really does get more from us than we get from them, then we can leave and never look back. I am giving my so called “friend” the silent treatment. I may never visit her home and I may never buy her meal again. She proved to me that she was not a friend and I am sorry but this world is filled with persons who are looking for someone to share good and bad time that we don’t have time for those who lie and cheat.
Something to ponder on:
How do we know if we have a true friend? The signs will be there. You will be able to see it in their actions more times than not. But the bottom dollar is we have to learn to read the signs. They are everywhere.

BEAUTIFUL WOMEN GFET LOST, TOO!!!
Miss America entrants get lost in Vegas
LAS VEGAS (UPI) -- Three buses carrying this year's 52 Miss America contestants got lost during the women's first night in Las Vegas, entrants say.
Miss Washington Kate Marie Grinold said the buses accidentally took the pageant contestants to the wrong Buca di Beppo restaurant location Saturday night, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Sunday.
"We got to see a lot of lights," Grinold said, attempting to find a bright spot in being temporarily lost.
The directional miscue was not the first time Miss America contestants got turned around. Miss Nevada Julianna Erdesz recalled last September when the contestants got lost on their way to the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif.
"We got lost on our way back from the zoo to the Queen Mary," Erdesz told the Review-Journal.
"We were lost for 90 minutes. Miss Oklahoma and I were on our iPhones giving directions to the bus driver on the GPS (Global Positioning System)."

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CAROLYN AND CIARRA
Dearest Carolyn,
This was the first year I was unable to be with you all for Christmas and New Years Day is here and I am filled with so much love and wishes for you. Daughter, you have been and will always be the joy of my life. You have been loved from the moment I found out I was carrying you in my womb. The love your father and I had for each other and the love we had when you arrived was special.
Over the years I became a single parent and that did not stop me from seeing you through high school, Sixth Form and University. Today you are thousands of miles away in Georgia, USA but you remain in my heart as the ray of sunshine that has brightened and guided me over the years.
I wish you all the best, Bibs. If Tia Brenda and Chichi were alive I know they would be so proud of all that you have achieved. I know that I am proud of you and have always been proud of you. Your successes are my successes. Keep on attaining that star that shines in your eyes and heart.
As we move into 2009, I look forward to seeing you and being with you. Keep on smiling and joking and being the best friend a mother could ask for. Baby girl, you are my greatest achievement. You are the best poem I have ever written, the best song I have ever sung and the best speech I have ever given. Reach for the unreachable and remember that you can be all you want to be.
Just say I CAN and you will be surprised at how much you will be able to do.
I love you and always will.
Mama
Ciarra, my little princess,
From the first moment I held you in my arms I knew you were grandma's girl. You are my joy and my peace. You are my blooming lily, my walking happiness. God Bless you my little angel. You are loved and you are cared for. Keep on making us proud of you. Keep on smiling and keep on learning.
Your journey of life has just begun. You have much to achieve and you will!
I love you and I miss you.
Grandma's special little star, know this: I will always be there for you. Reach out and take my hand.
All my love and kisses,
Grandma Brenda
