HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAROLYN ANGELA

Today is a day I always look back to and remember when my baby girl was born. It is a day I think changed my life forever in a very good way. I may have made many mistakes in my 50 years of life but I can never and will never call the day Carolyn Angela was born as anything other than one of the best days of my life. I have remembered that day, now 29 years later with great love, joy and peace in my heart and soul. It is like it was only yesterday that I held that little baby in my arms for the first time and smiled at her as she looked back at me. She was not a greedy baby and for the first day did not feed at all. I was worried but the nurses told me not to as it was probable that she was full from all the food I had been eating prior to her birth. Tia Brenda was ecstatic that night when Carolyn was born. In the years to follow she was nanny and aunt and grandma to this child that lit up our world. Grandma Ada was also very proud and please with this new addition to the family. Yes, Carolyn Angela, you were and are a blessing that came one June 26th and stayed to light up our world.

Daugther of my life, baby of my heart and child of my soul YOU are everything to me.

You are the sunshine each morning and the stars at night.
You are my mornings battles and my peace at night.
You give my strenght and you give me love.
There is one thing I know, You are a blessing from above.
So on this your birthday I send you this thought,
Knowing and accepting all the joy that you´ve brought.
For the stars in the sky can never shine as bright,
As the child I held on that late June night.

Happy Birthday, baby.
I love you, Mama.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Ice Blue Eyeshadow

There are very few colors that work on anyone; ice blue is one of them. This complements nearly any eye and skin color without exception, so don't be afraid to try it! Just make sure you don't overdo it -- some people look better with a little, some with more.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Food for Healthier Skin

Drinking lots of water really is good for you, and it also keeps your skin looking younger and healthier. Low-sugar fruits, like berries and melons, also help keep your skin firm without being so sweet as to increase your blood sugar (which encourages water retention and increased inflammation).

Health and Beauty Tip -- Quick Eye Enhancement

Don't have time (or energy) for full makeup? Even a little work on your eyelashes can brighten your whole face. Curl your lashes and put on a bit of mascara -- it only takes a second, and it makes your eyes look great in a hurry.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Keep Away the Frizz

If you have naturally curly hair, you may get frizzy as your hair dries. There's a simple solution -- don't touch it! Wait until your hair is at least 90% dry (either let it air dry or use a diffuser) before touching it, then tousle it with your fingers to style.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Help for Damaged Hair

Give your hair time to repair itself. Keep the heat off by letting your hair air-dry as often as possible. If you must use a hair dryer, use a nozzle to put some distance between you and the dryer's heat.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Simple Make-Up Remover

Here's a quick fix for make-up removal -- instead of cold cream or just soap and water, try a cotton pad or ball with baby oil. Swipe it across your face. It works just as well as a commercial make-up remover.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Getting a Perfect Haircut

Make sure your stylist knows exactly what you want, and help her get it just right. Sit up straight in your chair, to make sure your posture (and thus your style) isn't skewed. And instead of just describing what you want, use your hands to indicate length and style wherever you can. This gives the stylist a better idea visually of what you're going for.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Get the Most Out of Lipstick

You don't need to buy multiple tubes of lipstick to get different looks! If you want a glossy finish, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to your lips first. Dust your lipstick with some loose powder once it's applied for a matte finish, or pat it on gently for a stain. And for an evening style, mix your lipstick with a bit of dark eyeshadow.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Applying Lipstick Without a Mirror

If you need to fix up your lipstick but can't find a mirror, try this: using one finger from your free hand as a guide, position the tip of your lipstick at the center of the "bow" of your mouth. Tracing the edge of your lips with that finger, draw a half-heart shape from the center to the edge of your mouth on both sides. Then, using that same finger, trace the outside of your lower lip while applying the lipstick from the center. Don't rub your lips together -- that will just smear those nice even lines!

Health and Beauty Tip -- Picking a Purse

If you're the type who likes to have everything on hand, make your next purse a lightweight one with rolled or thick straps. Thin straps are uncomfortable to carry when your purse is heavy, and are better suited for women who don't carry much in their bags.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Red Lipstick

Red lipstick can look good on anyone -- if you find the right red. If you have red or pinkish undertones, go with a cool red with a pinkish or bluish undertone, or even a pure red -- but no orange-based reds! Only use those, or peach-toned reds, if your skin has yellow undertones. If you have olive skin, go for a pure red. Any skin tone is complemented by brown-based reds.

Health and Beauty Tip -- Nighttime Face Wash

Bedtime is the most important time to wash your face, to get rid of any dirt you've picked up during the day. Use circular motions when you scrub, and wash with cold water. Walnut scrub is great for oily skin, and dry of sensitive skin benefits from baby oil or wet cleansing pads afterwards.
